Derived, not measured: at 1.21 kg/L, one litre of N-26L carries 315 g of nitrogen and one litre of N-24L carries 290 g — so a 1000 L IBC holds roughly 315 kg and 290 kg of N respectively. That is arithmetic on the declared analysis and the density, not a separate measurement.
A single-form nitrogen delivers everything at once. Under a pivot that is the wrong shape: the crop gets a spike it cannot use in full, and what is not taken up is exposed — to volatilisation on hot alkaline ground, and to moving below the root zone with the next irrigation.
Splitting the nitrogen across nitrate, ammoniacal and urea fractions changes the shape of the supply rather than the amount. The nitrate fraction is available as it lands. The ammoniacal fraction is held on the exchange sites instead of travelling with the wetting front. The urea fraction has to convert before the crop can use it, so it arrives behind the other two. One injection therefore feeds across a window.
The two grades sit at opposite ends of that idea. N-26L holds the largest immediately available share — 5.75% nitrate against 13.75% urea. N-24L pushes the balance the other way, with 19.00% of its nitrogen in the urea fraction, and carries fifty times the boron.
A pivot injects nutrient into pressurised water that then touches the whole machine before it reaches the crop. That rules out a great deal: anything that will not stay in solution at injection strength, anything that precipitates when it meets the calcium and bicarbonate already in the carrier water, anything that puts chloride into a line running past stainless fittings and gaskets.
Both grades are liquids designed for that duty, with the zinc and boron already in solution rather than tank-mixed at the pump — which removes the compatibility question that usually decides whether a micronutrient gets applied through a pivot at all, or gets skipped.

The liquid grades and Vital Urea answer the same problem from opposite ends: one changes when the nitrogen becomes available by splitting the fractions, the other by coating the granule.
