For distributors, importers and laboratories

For people whose reputation travels with the product.

Distributors, importers, and other laboratories. Three different worries, one protocol — the sample is coded before it reaches a bench, and analysed twice by two people who do not know where it came from.

Distributors — incoming goods

You are about to sell stock on your own name. If it is not what your supplier says it is, the farmer comes back to you, not to them.

We test anything you stock, not only VAN product. That is not a concession — it is the point. A verification service that only covered our own range would be a marketing exercise, and you would be right to ignore it.

Incoming-goods verification

Check a consignment before it goes on your shelf, against what the supplier declared.

Any manufacturer

Ours, theirs, imported, local. The analyst does not know whose it is in any case.

Your customer's complaint

When a farmer disputes a bag, a measurement settles it faster than an argument.

Importers — consignment testing

A consignment sitting at a port costs money every day it sits. What you need is a turnaround you can plan around and a certificate your buyer will accept.

Published turnaround

3 working days for most tests, from confirmed booking. Printed on the price list, not quoted case by case.

Accredited certificate

PNAC ISO/IEC 17025:2017, LAB 336, for the accredited parameters. Non-accredited tests are identified as such on the price list and on the report.

Documented chain of custody

Who handled the sample, when, and what they were able to see. Written down, not asserted.

Testing a consignment regularly? Tell us your seasonal volume — block arrangements are being worked out around real submission patterns rather than published as a guess.

Other laboratories — reference and umpire analysis

When two parties disagree about a result, somebody has to be the third. That role only works if the third laboratory has no stake in the answer — and cannot acquire one.

A referee sample entering VAN Lab is stripped of its origin at the same desk as a farmer's bag. The analysts do not know which laboratory sent it, which two parties are in dispute, or what either of them reported. They receive a code and a test request.

Every sample is handled the same way

Your supplier's product and ours arrive at the same desk. Both are coded before they reach a bench, both are split three ways, both are run by two analysts independently, and both are signed off against a code. The analyst could not treat them differently if he wanted to, because he is not told which is which.

Send a consignment sample

Book it, send 500 g, and check where it is at any time with your reference.
