VAN Yield & Discipline Simulator. Nutrition is half the yield. Discipline is the other half.

The world talks about nutrition and uptake, and it matters. VAN is building the tool that adds the other half: what the field actually does — when it was sown, how it was watered, how thick it stands — and what that does to the yield the nutrition was planned for.

On course. Every practice in its window: the nutrition plan can deliver the target it was set for.
Preview: directions only. The simulator prints figures for each crop and district from VAN’s trial data and the Punjab soil survey when it opens.
How it will work

Eight things you tell it. Five things it tells you.

You tell it

Your field, as it is

  1. 1Crop and variety — from Pakistan’s list, not a generic one.
  2. 2District and soil — the Punjab survey’s 770,000 samples and VAN’s own set the soil prior; a laboratory report overrides it.
  3. 3Target yield — in maunds per acre, against what the district can carry.
  4. 4Sowing date — the day, not the month.
  5. 5Irrigation — canal, tube well or both, and the schedule you can keep.
  6. 6Plant population — seed rate and stand.
  7. 7Cropping pattern — what the field carried before: rice–wheat, cotton–wheat, cane and ratoon.
  8. 8Practices — weed window, top-dressing, harvest window.
It tells you

Your yield, your score, your plan

  1. 1Your attainable yield — with the discipline you described, on your field.
  2. 2Your discipline score — a scorecard for the crop: which practices carry the target, and which one is costing you most.
  3. 3The nutrients in kilograms — N, P₂O₅, K₂O, the secondaries and the micros, stage by stage, after the soil’s own contribution.
  4. 4The VAN products that deliver them — product, stage, method and pack, from the crop programmes already on this site.
  5. 5What each slip costs — and the way back — how much, how, what it looks like in the field, and how to recover if you can.
What if

The questions a farmer asks in the field. The simulator answers them before the season.

Every answer comes in four parts: how much, how, what it looks like, and the way back.

What if I sow wheat ten days late?

The crop has less season to do the same work. The simulator will show the yield it can still reach, why, and whether a variety, a population or a nutrition change recovers any of it.

What if my sugarcane misses an irrigation?

It depends on which one. The simulator will show what a missed irrigation costs at each stage of the cane’s year, and what to do in the week after.

What if the stand is thin, or the top-dressing late?

The nutrition plan was set for a full stand on time. The simulator will re-set it for the field as it is, and say what the target becomes.

What it is built on

The figures will come from ground VAN owns and samples VAN read.

Every figure it prints will carry its source: VAN’s own trials first, published Pakistani research with its citation second.
