Sugarcane — two programmes, one crop.

VAN publishes sugarcane twice: a February-planting programme and a separate ratoon programme for the following cane. They are different documents with different inputs, and they are kept apart here rather than merged. Both are transcribed from the published plans, including the places where those plans are incomplete.

This plan prints no pack sizes. Unlike the wheat, maize and ratoon plans, the February sugarcane plan gives rates in bags and packs without stating the bag size. The rates are reproduced as printed; each product name below links to its brand page, where its pack size is published.

Reissued 21 August 2026. The 2025 sheet headed two columns "Land Preparation" with identical entries in both, left the fourth unheaded, and stopped at Early Growth. The stages below are the five every VAN plan runs, and Maturity now carries the closing foliar potash.

How each method is applied

Broadcasting	Spread evenly over the soil surface, before or at sowing, and worked in by tillage or by the first irrigation.
Placement	Laid in the furrow or band at sowing, so the nutrient sits where the young root system will reach it rather than across the whole field.
Side dressing	Applied along the row of a standing crop after establishment, then irrigated in.
Fertigation	Dissolved and delivered through the irrigation water, so the dose arrives with the water at the stage it is needed.
Spray	Dissolved and sprayed onto the leaf, for nutrients the crop can take up through the foliage.

One product rule overrides the table: Vital Urea is a coated slow-release urea and is applied by broadcasting, side dressing or drilling — never by fertigation. Every Vital Urea row in the plans below complies with that; the fertigation rows in the nitrogen band are commodity urea, which is a different material.

What these plans do not tell you

These are per-acre programmes, not a prescription for your field. A nutrition plan is built on a typical crop and a typical soil. It is not a substitute for a soil test, and the rates are not adjusted here for what your own soil already holds.

No yield figure appears on this page. We publish what to apply, at which stage, by which method. We do not attach a yield percentage to it, because that would need a named trial we can point you at.

This programme is indicative. It is built on best practice and on the nutrient requirement of the crop — not on your field. VAN prepares farm-specific plans against a grower's own soil analysis, yield target and the other variables that decide a rate. Ask for one on WhatsApp or at Kisan@van.com.pk.

Read alongside the plan

Both sheets were reissued on 21 August 2026. The 2025 originals are superseded, and the downloads above are the reissued versions.
Ratoon plan: the stage headings were wrong and have been corrected. The 2025 sheet printed "Land Preparation" twice, with the same six entries in both columns, left the fourth column unheaded, and stopped at Early Growth. The column labelled Early Growth in fact held the Grand Growth entries. The duplicate is gone and the five stages every VAN plan uses are back in order.
Ratoon plan: two entries were added. Maturity was empty, and now carries VL-Potash Liquid, 3 pack, spray — the same closing foliar the February sheet uses. And potash ran at roughly a third of the plant-crop rate on a crop that takes more of it, so Vital Potash ½ bag + 1 bag (two applications) is restored at Early Growth. Both changes were authorised, not inferred.
February plan: the first nutrient row carried no label in the 2025 source. It holds Humi Grow and the phosphate, so it is published under "Phosphorus & soil amendment".
February plan: the 2025 sheet printed no pack sizes. Every pack size shown above comes off the product’s own registered label, and the product name links to it.
V-Transform printed as "Bag - 3 Kg" on the 2025 sheet. Normalised to 3 kg, to match the pack size on the V-Transform product page.
The phosphate is named under its current registration. The 2025 sheets print "V Ammonium Phosphate 12.44.0"; the product was re-registered in July 2026 as V-Phosphate 10-44-0 under licence CM/L-4297/2026, and that is what the reissued sheets carry.
Both plans schedule commodity urea and, on the ratoon, commodity CAN alongside VAN products. Those are greyed and unlinked.
